Play Some Bish (playsomebish.com) is a free online Tarabish game run by Kyle Steele. This page explains what information the site handles and what choices you have.
What we handle
- Game information. To run online games we process the details a game needs: the table or room you join, the display name you choose, and the moves you make.
- Technical information. Like most websites, our servers receive your IP address, browser type, device type and the pages you request. This is used to deliver the site, keep it secure and understand how it's used.
- On your device. Your browser stores a few things so the game can remember you: a sign-in token if you log in, your Daily Challenge progress, the table you last joined so you can rejoin it, a note that you've visited before, and preferences such as table alerts. You can clear these any time in your browser settings.
- Accounts (optional). If you create an account we store your username, email address and password, plus your results: Daily Challenge results and streaks, solo and online games played and scores, and your friends list and table invites. Your username and scores appear on the public leaderboard and your profile. We use your email only for account messages, such as a welcome note and password resets.
- Online tables. While a table is active we keep its room code, the display names of the people seated, and the cards and moves needed to run the game. Table data is deleted automatically after about six hours of inactivity.
- Visit counts. We keep anonymous running totals of visits: whether the browser is new or returning, the referring site, the address used, time zone, browser language, device type (desktop, tablet or phone), whether the game was installed as an app, and roughly how many days since the last visit. A country is worked out from your language settings or your host. None of this is tied to your name, account or IP address.
- How many people are online. To show how many people are playing right now, each open page sends a random code, with no name or IP address, every 30 seconds. These codes are deleted within minutes.
- Strategy research. To improve the computer players and write strategy guides, we record how some hands play out: the cards dealt, the bidding and the order the cards were played. These records carry no name, account, cookie or IP address.
Cookies, analytics and advertising
We use third-party services that set cookies or similar technologies:
- Google AdSense. Ads on this site may be served by Google. Google and its advertising partners use cookies to show ads based on your visits to this and other websites. You can learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites and manage ad personalization at adssettings.google.com.
- Google Analytics. Helps us understand how people use the site, such as which pages are visited, what kind of device is used and roughly where visitors are located. It uses cookies and sends this information to Google. You can opt out with Google's browser add-on.
You can also limit tracking cookies through your browser settings, or opt out of interest-based advertising from participating companies at optout.aboutads.info.
How we use information
- To run the game and the Daily Challenge.
- To keep the site working, fix bugs and prevent abuse.
- To understand which parts of the site people use.
- To show ads that help cover the cost of running the site.
Who we share it with
We share information with the service providers that help us run the site, such as hosting, analytics and advertising partners, and where the law requires it. Those providers have their own privacy policies.
How long we keep it
We keep information only as long as we need it to run and secure the site, or as the law requires.
Your choices and rights
You can clear your browser's stored data at any time, which resets any settings or progress the game saved on your device. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to ask what information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, or to object to how it's used. Email us at steelekyle@gmail.com and we'll respond.
Children
Play Some Bish is a card game and everyone is welcome to play, but it isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we'll remove it.
Changes to this policy
